Job Title: Store Manager
Location: Region 54 Various store locations in the Las Vegas/North Las Vegas/Henderson Area
SUMMARY:
Store Managers are an exempt position and responsible for the total leadership and strategic operation of the front store and pharmacy including overall store management, supervision, and policy implementation; sales and inventory management; employee staffing, training, and development; financial management; and customer service leadership. Store managers drive store execution and performance while building consumer loyalty to CVS through a focus on excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure employee staffing, training and development
o Recruit, interview and hire store staff
o Ensure all company training programs are followed and all staff know and follow all company and store policies, procedures and expectations; retrain as needed
o Coach employees to improve and maximize performance, as well as develop them to advance within the company
o Evaluate and review performance of store staff
Sales, Inventory, and Financial Management
o Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize sales and profits, including managing interactions with outside vendors
o Customize and execute company planograms to the needs of the specific store with a focus on creative sales building (utilizing knowledge of company and industry sales and marketing trends)
o Analyze and evaluate all operational reports to develop plans to monitor all controllable costs/expenses and improve the stores overall performance (including pharmacy)
Overall Management and Customer Service
o Teach and motivate employees on delivering the highest level of customer service to every customer; assist and handle any escalated or difficult customer service issue
o Directly lead and supervise all employees including planning, assigning, prioritizing and follow up to ensure proper execution of all work
o Assess store needs and make changes to assignments and priorities based on present volume of business and other factors deemed pertinent by the Store Manager or Regional Staff
o Review all weekly and monthly reports and documents pertaining to store sales, customer service, staff training progression, vendor and truck deliveries, shrinkage, and register transactions
o Implement and enforce company policies against unlawful harassment, discrimination, and workplace violence within the store and coordinate with Human Resources where any violation is reported or suspected
o Oversee store compliance with meal and rest period rules, safety guidelines, and maintenance of accurate and current personnel records, as well as maintain knowledge and understanding of state and federal employment laws in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor such as employment discrimination, anti-harassment, safety, wage-hour, and immigration laws to fulfill management duties in a fair and lawful manner
o Other general management duties as directed by the company
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to lift 35 pound trays/cases to height of 4 feet and move trays/cases from one location to another in the store; ability to bend and squat frequently to move/locate merchandise
At least one year of management experience in retail, food service/restaurant, or customer service (four year college degree preferred); or at least one year of work experience in these types of businesses preferably at a supervisor level (two or four year college degree preferred)
Ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends, as well as possibly early morning and/or overnight shifts at some locations to accommodate merchandise deliveries and to respond to urgent issues or emergencies in store; schedule adjustments are made according to store needs and operating hours
CVS/pharmacy does not require members of store management to become registered pharmacists
