With 110 colleges and 2.6 million students, the California Community Colleges make up the largest system of higher education in the nation. As the official non-profit organization supporting the California Community Colleges' Board of Governors and System Office, the Foundation for California Community Colleges provides cost savings to the Community Colleges, raises resources that support the system, operates a number of programs at campuses statewide, and creates valuable learning opportunities for students throughout the state. Since its inception in 1998, the Foundation has grown to be one of the largest operating foundations in higher education, with 120 full-time employees, 410 part-time student assistants working in government agencies, non-profits, and businesses throughout the state, and annual revenues of close to $30 million. It has secured over $150 million in grants, contracts, and gifts, and provided over $100 million in direct grants, support, and cost savings to colleges.
