Business Analyst

Title: Data Analyst – Community and Indigenous EngagementJob ID: MK280041724Location: Calgary, ABOverview:Our Alberta based Client is seeking the services on a contractual basis of a Data Analyst to support the work of Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS) Function in the following areas:Data management and analysis for the VP PACS and all PACS Directors in the US and Canada on annual budgeting and forecasting information for Finance.This position has significant impact on the organisations ability to successfully execute and operate current projects and operations and support future growth through the provision of documentation and analysis that supports regulatory compliance and strategic engagement with critical external stakeholders and local Indigenous communities and groups.Provide Analysis and Data Management on key issues and requirements for the Director of Community and Indigenous Engagement (CIE) Canada, and the Director of CSR and CI (enterprise-wide). This includes, but is not limited to the provision of: Support for collation, reporting and analysis of data required for business metrics and regulatory compliance.Support for data management that advances progress and achievement of key PAC goals and objectives, both function-wide and at a leadership level. Support for the Vice President of PACS with the coordination of annual budgeting and forecasting information to Finance.Things you need to have:Related university degree and limited previous experience OR five or more years’ experience in a senior level coordinator/analyst role.A certificate from a recognized provider of training, such as a Project Management Certificate, that includes skills and knowledge development in areas pertaining to accountabilities.At least 5 years of working with data management systems.Training on Problem Solving and Decision Making.Demonstrated high level of proficiency with Oracle, Oracle Business Intelligence, SAP, Hyperion, SIMS, CyberGrants, Benevity, Excel, WorkDay and other databases. High proficiency with MS Office suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project) and particularly strong technical skills in Excel; well-developed skills in internet navigation; demonstrated strengths and commitment to attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in all delivered products and services.Experience with records management and reporting, both regulatory and financial.Strong analytical skills and ability to assess and evaluate.Demonstrated ability to work with initiative and creativity when managing complex and/or multiple projects under constant deadline pressure.Ability to stay current on knowledge, information and leading practices and requirements in the rapidly evolving fields of Indigenous and stakeholder engagement, CSR and CI.Well-developed documentation skills.Well-developed Time Management skills.Requires a high level of discretion, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external contacts (including regulators), and confidential or sensitive information.What you will be doing:Analysis and Data management for engagement with key communities and Indigenous groups in Canada and the company’s community investment in both Canada and the US for applicable PACS Directors, Managers and Teams including: Management of data systems for stakeholder engagement, community investment and social and environmental performance that support corporate and regulatory reporting requirements for projects and operations. This includes data gathering, inputting, tracking and training “Super User” for all data in Stakeholder Information Management (SIMS) system including support of record of contact and ensuring consistency in data quality, reliability and auditability.“Super User” for all data in CyberGrant system for community investments and Safe Community grants including support for gathering, input and tracking of up to $10M (CAD) in community investment to support business needs (total of approximately $10M per year), as well as development of an improved system for internal reporting and evaluation.Contract management, invoicing, payments and tracking for CIE activities supporting major projects.Management of all Management of Change (MOC) notifications.As required, liaison with Finance on overall PACS budget forecasting and planning, quarterly and monthly reporting, accruals, monitoring and tracking spend.Assists with documentation and analysis of complex issues subject to rapid change and, in some instances, public debate and controversy.Assists a team or teams of professional and technical staff with organizing and maintaining team specific documentation processes through data input, verification and filing in hard copy and electronic team and central databases. As required, provide basic guidance to junior administrative staff and/or temporary staff/contractors.
