Equipment Engineer


Title: Equipment EngineerJob ID: LR275765726Our client is looking for an Equipment Engineer who will be responsible for supporting the team with the implementation and maintenance of production machinery and equipment to support the assembly operations. In this role, you will champion the specification of new equipment, support the procurement of new equipment, support the installation of new equipment, development of Preventative Maintenance plans, development of spare parts requirements and mentor the maintenance team in troubleshooting electromechanical equipment issues. This position is expected to include hands on working on our more complicated equipment when the maintenance team needs support.Responsibilities:Evaluate, coordinate, and compile bidder circle, prepare SOW (Statement of Work), contact suppliers for RFQ, evaluate and recommend suppliers for the award of contract, acceptance of the equipment and handoff to operations.Develop and execute commissioning plans for the next generation battery assembly equipment requirements.Facilitate team decisions on equipment scope and manage project budgets.Develop Preventative Maintenance requirements and intervals, working with the manufacturer and our maintenance team to develop work instructions for PMs. Investigate and develop solutions to equipment problems through identification and repair, including root cause analysis, TPM, and World Class tools.Facilitate process improvements and lean projects to enhance the current battery manufacturing equipment throughput.Qualifications:Project Management experience.Hands on approach to solving equipment problems.Ability to bring an engineering approach to the existing maintenance team and mentor the maintenance technicians.Ability to interpret technical specifications as well as mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.Proven record of collaboration between R&D, Supply Chain, and Sourcing to drive best cost and quality.Lean, six-sigma, or equivalent problem-solving skills.Self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized and flexible.Must possess strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player and able to work closely and independently in a team-oriented environment.Must have sound rationalization skills, mathematical background and reasoning skills.Must be able to safely lift up to 40 lbs routinely, frequently move up to 500 lbs, and understand proper body mechanics and lifting practices. Also, knowledge of material handling equipment and usage is helpful.Have the ability to visualize and implement own ideas (self-starter) for equipment/process improvements.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or equipment maintenance positions.Minimum of 5 years prior experience in specifying, procuring, and commissioning of manufacturing machinery and equipment.Advanced equipment maintenance experience in electrical/electronic controls, software, and mechanical areas with a plc background is required.Good familiarity with personal computer use in a Windows environment, Microsoft Office Suite preferred.Proficient with AutoCad to produce equipment layout and facility drawings.A solid understanding of CER (Capital Expenditure Request) processes.Experience with modern automated industrial equipment.For more information about TEEMA and to consider other career opportunities, please visit our website at www.teemagroup.com
