Organizational Change Management Specialist

Title: Organizational Change Management SpecialistJob ID: MK209407121Location: Edmonton, ABOur Client is seeking a full-time contract role as an Organizational Change Management (OCM) Specialist to play a key role in ensuring Information Services & Technology (IST) programs, projects and change initiatives successfully meet business objectives. This role will focus on the people side of change which includes changes to business processes, technology, and behaviors. The primary responsibility is planning and implementing OCM activities for assigned IST projects - providing people capability and tools so the are ready, willing and able to change.The OCM Specialist is accountable to demonstrate the value of OCM by delivering tangible results through a professional, intentional, collaborative and structured approach to managing the people side of change. The successful candidate can look forward to an energetic, professional team environment where there is a commitment to personal and professional growth.Things you need to have: Prosci Change Management certification 5+ years tactical OCM experience successfully creating and executing change management activities within a project structure Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and toolsExperience with large-scale organizational change efforts; experience with redesign initiatives is an assetExceptional communication skills – both written and verbal; Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiencesExceptional facilitation skillsExcellent active listening skills Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization, including coaching senior leadershipAbility to establish and maintain strong relationships Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and take initiative in the absence of direction. Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tacticsProblem solving and root cause identification skills Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycleExperience with continuous improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) methodologies and tools will be an assetWhat you will be doing:Reporting to the Change Management Practice Lead, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Works closely with the Business Transformation team and clients to apply a structured methodology leading and executing OCM activities for projects assigned to ISTConduct various OCM assessments including (but not limited to): change impact assessment, stakeholder analysis, organizational readiness assessments, change risk assessment and capabilities needs assessment. Develops and implements results oriented OCM strategies and plans, including (but not limited to), communication and engagement, training, and sustainmentFacilitates and assists sponsor and senior leadership in completing the sponsor roadmap — including activities for sponsor(s) to provide support to project team, develop sponsorship with critical stakeholders, provide direction and create awareness with impacted peopleThrough leadership coaching, enables leaders to sponsor the change, supporting business users during the change and in the newly changed environmentFacilitates engagement sessions; builds alignment on expectations, accountabilities, change impacts, risks and special tacticsDevelops and executes communication activities designed to move stakeholders through the stages of change (from unaware to committed)Supports development, coordination and delivery of training designed to provide stakeholders with knowledge, abilities, skills and behaviours to work in the new wayDevelops sustainment approach for embedding the change into the organization to achieve expected benefitsDefines and measures success metrics. Tracks and reports progress of activities and overall status to project team, primary sponsor and critical stakeholdersSupports the development and adoption of the IST OCM practice through activities such as; developing OCM tools and templates, supporting the development and delivery of OCM training Facilitates and guides service improvement activities including:service review activities (focused on analyzing the entire service model and overall customer experiences) root cause review activities (focused on reducing incidents / waste)For more information about TEEMA and to consider other career opportunities, please visit our website at
