Position Summary:
|
The Sr. Structural Project Engineer-Project Manager will lead a collaborative team of Engineers in Training, interns, and drafts men to ensure project deadlines are met and exceeded. The Project Manager will also be responsible for scheduling meetings, budgeting, and communicating with clients. The incumbent will work closely with Principals, Studio Managers, and BIM staff to successfully execute projects.

|
Essential Responsibilities:
|
Independently manages, supervises, and coordinates the work of the structural design team through all phases of a project.
Establishes meetings and participates in reviews and work sessions with various governing agencies for code compliance.
Plans and leads structural design work sessions in conjunction with client project manager/architect and other disciplines.
Responsible for coordination of design and documentation workload to complete the deliverable documents on schedule and within budget.
Reviews structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
Writes/edits structural specifications, selects procedures, materials and their respective sizes, completes necessary calculations or reviews, and directs calculations by supporting staff.
Coordinates and assists, with affected disciplines, requests for information, change proposal requests, and change orders and is responsible for incorporating agreed upon changes into the project documents.
Provides construction contract administration as needed, including walking and making observations on site during project construction.
Writes reports of site observations or other investigations conducted. May conduct QA/QC reviews of the work by other Structural Project Engineers, Structural Project Coordinators or Structural Technicians.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
|
10 years of Structural Engineering experience as it relates to building design
Experience in producing structural calculations (including conducting FEA) as required for projects.
Experience using the International Building Code (IBC) and all applicable reference codes related to building structural design
Experience in designing and producing detail work for steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures.

Desired Experience and Traits:
Successful completion of the NCEES Structural Engineering exam (16 hours).
Texas Professional Engineer registration
|
Experience in a consulting environment
Prior experience working on large projects
Previous collaboration with architects
|
|
Educational Requirements:
|
- Bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures. Masters Degree preferred.
|
